Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between single vision and progressive lenses?

Single vision lenses correct for one field of vision only (either distance or near). They are the standard choice for most people under 40. Progressive lenses, on the other hand, are multifocal lenses that correct for multiple fields of vision (near, intermediate, and distance) in a single, seamless lens. They are the modern solution for presbyopia, the age-related condition that makes it difficult to focus on near objects.

Are all JOIUSS™ lenses reflection-free?

Yes. Every pair of JOIUSS™ prescription lenses includes premium finishing as standard.

All clear lenses are supplied with a high-performance anti-reflection (anti-glare) coating. This reduces distracting reflections from both the front and back surfaces of the lens, improves visual clarity, enhances night driving comfort, and helps minimise eye strain. It also allows your eyes to be seen more naturally, without the heavy glare often associated with untreated lenses.

All tinted lenses and transition (reaction) lenses are finished with a durable hard coating as standard, protecting the surface while maintaining long-lasting clarity and colour integrity.

We never offer basic, untreated lenses. Every JOIUSS™ lens is finished to meet our optometrist-led quality standard — because beautiful frames deserve beautiful optics.

How do I order prescription lenses online?

Ordering your prescription lenses with JOIUSS™ is simple and fully guided.

First, choose your favourite frame. Then select the “Prescription” option within our lens selector. You’ll be guided step by step through choosing your lens type, including Single Vision, Bifocal or Varifocal (Progressive), along with enhancements such as blue light protection, transitions, polarised sun lenses or specialist tints.

Our intelligent lens selector adapts as you choose, ensuring you only see options suitable for your prescription and lens type. Where higher prescriptions require thinner lenses for improved aesthetics and comfort, we automatically upgrade where necessary.

You can enter the prescription manually, upload your prescription or choose to send afterwards.

For added accuracy and simplicity:

  • If your prescription does not include astigmatism correction, a simple toggle allows you to confirm there are no CYL values required.
  • Within the PD section, an optional toggle reveals fields to enter prism values where necessary, ensuring precise alignment and comfortable vision for more complex prescriptions.

If you are unsure about any part of your prescription, our optometrist-led team is always available to assist before or after ordering.
